We expanded our U.S. footprint with the acquisition of our manufacturing site in Milford, MA. in 2019. Since then, we have transformed the facility into a multi-product manufacturing site, expanding it from 93,000 square feet to 138,000 square feet in total. At this site, we offer full-service solutions along the entire biopharmaceutical value chain – for large-scale clinical and commercial cGMP manufacturing.

Rentschler Biopharma Manufacturing Center Milford US

In the summer of 2021, we broke ground for a new manufacturing suite, which became operational in 2024 and has effectively doubled our global cGMP capacity. We have a major project underway at the new line, with several additional projects in the pipeline, and continue to welcome new projects and clients. Our new state-of-the-art manufacturing line represents the largest expansion in our 150-year company history. As part of the existing Milford site, it adds 22,000 square feet of manufacturing cleanroom space while housing four 2,000 L single-use bioreactors. Growing with our manufacturing footprint, the site includes expanded quality control, process development, and warehousing capabilities.

Our Milford site primarily focuses on the production of highly complex molecules for international clients and is fully operational. By contributing to the global availability of biopharmaceuticals, Rentschler Biopharma, Milford won the Gold MassEcon Impact Award, for its strong commitment to diversity as well as its community presence, including its partnerships with local schools and organizations.
